Root Canal

A Root Canal is the space inside the root portion of a tooth that contains pulp tissue. Sometimes a dentist will inspect a tooth that likely be suscpetible to decay or infection down the road; or it is already considered a "threat" due to cracking, inflammation or moderate to severe decay or infection. Usually, the dentist will recommend Root Canal Therapy which involves drilling into the pulpal chamber and removing the infection from the root canals. After the cleaning process is completed, the dentist will then fill the canals with a material and cover the tooth with a crown if necessary.
