Intentional Reimplantation

Refers to the intentional removal, repair and replacement of a tooth into its alveolus. Even when a tooth is accidentally knocked out, there is a chance that a dentist can repair and replace it without having to resort to a dental implant or other restorative measures. Generally speaking, a tooth is most likely to "take" after being reimplanted if the surgery occurs within 30 minutes of when the tooth was first removed. After 2 hours, the procecdure is not likely to work.
