Dental Bonding is commonly used to change tooth color, as well as fill gaps and straighten crooked teeth. Bonding is comprised of a composite resin material and can be applied to both the front and the back of teeth. Bonding can also refer to how an orthodontic device, filling or partial denture is adhered to the teeth. When a dentist applies bonding, he or she will apply a sheer coating of a plastic-like material on the front of your teeth. After this step, the dentist will appy the bonding material and sculpt, color and shape. After the bonding material is applied, a high-intensity light will harden the plastic, and the surface is then polished to resemble natural tooth enamel.
